Claude is getting a lot more personal. Anthropic just rolled out connectors that let its AI assistant tap directly into apps like Spotify, Uber Eats, Instacart, AllTrails, TripAdvisor, Audible, and TurboTax.

This is a shift from Claude's previous focus on work apps like Microsoft's suite. Now you can have Claude pull from your actual personal accounts during conversations. Planning a hike? Claude might suggest using your connected AllTrails account to find trails.

Some of these integrations aren't new to AI assistants. Spotify, for example, already works with ChatGPT. But Anthropic is clearly making a play to be useful beyond the office, competing directly with OpenAI on the personal assistant front.

The way it works is straightforward. Once you connect an app, Claude will automatically suggest it when relevant to your conversation. Ask about dinner plans, and it might tap Uber Eats or Instacart. Tax questions could trigger TurboTax.

For anyone using AI tools daily, this matters because it's another step toward AI assistants that actually know your context. Instead of copying and pasting between apps, Claude can pull directly from services you already use. That's the promise, anyway.

The bigger picture here is the race to become your default AI assistant. OpenAI, Google, and now Anthropic are all rushing to connect with the apps that run your life. Whoever integrates best wins your daily usage.
