Deezer says AI-made songs make up 44 percent of daily uploads

Music streaming service Deezer just dropped some eye-opening numbers about AI-generated music on its platform. The Paris-based company is seeing roughly 75,000 AI-made tracks uploaded every single day, accounting for 44% of all daily uploads. That adds up to about 2 million flagged AI songs per month.

To put that growth in perspective, when Deezer launched its AI detection tool in January 2025, AI tracks made up just 18% of uploads. In less than a year, that figure has more than doubled. Across all of 2025, the platform detected and flagged over 13.4 million AI-generated songs.

Here's the interesting part. Despite the massive volume of AI uploads, these tracks only account for 1-3% of actual streams on the platform. Most of those streams get flagged as fraudulent and demonetized, meaning the flood of AI content isn't translating to listener engagement.

Deezer's proprietary detection tool specifically identifies music from Suno and Udio, the two most popular AI music generators right now. Both companies faced lawsuits early on but have since struck deals with major record labels, showing how quickly the industry's stance is evolving.

For anyone building with AI or watching the creator economy, this is a clear signal. The barrier to content creation has dropped to near zero, but quality and authenticity still matter for actual consumption. Other platforms like Coda Music are rolling out similar verification systems, letting users flag suspicious artists.

The takeaway? AI is making it trivially easy to flood platforms with content, but the real challenge is creating something people actually want to listen to. Volume doesn't equal value, and platforms are getting better at separating signal from noise.
