Voice AI in India is hard. Wispr Flow is betting on it anyway.

Wispr Flow is doubling down on India despite voice AI being notoriously difficult there. The company added Hinglish support (that mix of Hindi and English that's actually how millions of people talk) and says growth picked up afterward.

Voice AI products have struggled in India for years. Accents vary wildly across regions, people code-switch between languages mid-sentence, and background noise in dense urban areas throws off most models. It's a tough market to crack.

Wispr Flow's bet on Hinglish makes sense though. Most voice AI tools force you to pick one language, but that's not how conversation actually works in India. Supporting the natural blend could be the unlock other companies have missed.

For anyone building AI products, this is a reminder that localization isn't just translation. It's understanding how people actually communicate. The companies that figure out these nuances first will own massive markets that others have written off as too hard.
